Indonesian Marine Navigational Service organized and managed by the Directorate General of Sea Communications (DGSC) cq. the Directorate of Navigation who direct and control the administration, technical and operational aspect of its 25 District Navigation spread out the Indonesian area.
The 25 District of Navigation offices are representing the DGSC in its respective responsibility area to carry out the duty in the marine safety navigation service such as :
- to develop, to operate and to maintain Aids to Navigations - to develop, to operate and to maintain Coastal radio Stations - to carry out the administrative issues in relation with their jobs and human resource
The execution of the Indonesian marine safety navigational services today (end of 2005) supported by approximately 4740 personnelof District Navigation and 119 personnel of Directorate of Navigation that have various educational backgrounds. The 4740 personnel of the District Navigation are assigned in several duties as follows :
